Stimpzilla's Sumptuary Law

Always Dress Above Your Station

About Stimpzilla

No one knows exactly where Stimpzilla is from or how old she is.  It is widely rumored that she is the illegitimate daughter formed by a union between a Hungarian Princess and an English Duke.  But it is also more often thought that she is a Hungarian Princess herself, whose Father gambled away her dowry and the entire family fortune.  It is further whispered that Stimpzilla was too prideful to marry an old man with money but no title and decided she would rather design gowns for the English Court than to "give up her freedom and lay with a man so much her senior".   It most probably true that she has had many lovers who are noble.

Certainly she is known by many courtiers for her marvelous tailoring abilities and her excesses in fabric and trims.  Stipmzilla is very susceptible to flattery and hoards precious stones.  While she has a reputation for honesty and fairness in her dealings with her clients, she is known to be rather tricky when playing cards.  Stimpzilla is on occasion in trouble with the Queen for making her client's gowns a bit too sumptuous for Her Royal Majesty's liking.  Once she was banished from court for 3 months as a result of constructing a particularly fabulous gown for Lettice Knollys.  Stimpzilla, understanding that she needed to make a rather important offering to the Queen, constructed a special gown for Queen Elizabeth of re-embroidered silk brocade, with pearls sewn on every inch. The gown was presented to the Queen by a mutual friend the Baroness Jagmin, and Stimpzilla was welcomed back with open arms.

Stimpzilla's rise in standing through the court has something to do with her basic philosophy "Always Dress Above Your Station".   Her understanding of court politics and the need to be noticed if one wants to climb the social ladder is what has made her so popular.  Stimpzilla herself has never shrunk away from being noticed and is very good at aiding courtiers in their quest for the Queen's eye.  Constantly rising the bar of elegance in court dress, Stimpzilla enjoys testing the sumptuary laws believing that all courtiers have the right to look their best.

While never married Stimpzilla was once quoted as saying "I never hated a man enough to give him his diamonds back."
