Black Silk Spanish Renaissance Sleeves

Many renaissance sleeves were made to be interchangeable with the gowns and doublets they were worn with. Often nobles had separate sleeves for special occasions.

The sleeves pictured here are made from black silk brocade interwoven with a gold bee pattern. The sleeves cuffs are trimmed in gold piping and lined with black cotton.
