Lined in black cotton there are ten bones in the front and four in the back, eliminating the need for a separate corset in order to achieve the correct look for the time period. The bodice is piped at the edges. SLEEVES The sleeves are made of a silk and cotton blend brocade that is an ivory and cream colour. The sleeves are lined in white cotton and attach to the bodice using small hidden loops and are laced with grosgrain ribbon, giving the wearer of this gown the option of only wearing the great sleeves on hot days. Or to wear a differnt pair of sleeves. OVERSKIRT The overskirt is made of black silk, and is hand cartridge pleated into the waist band, with a circumference of about 145". It is trimmed in the same gold lace as the bodice. The size is adjustable in the front with hook and eyes. UNDERSKIRT The overskirt is made of the same green cotton brocade as the bodice, and is hand cartridge pleated into the waist band, with a circumference of about 160". Please remember to add room for any underpinnings such as a chemise or corset to the measurements. UNDERSKIRT The underskirt is made of white cotton muslin to keep it light. The fore-panel is made from the same brocade as the sleeves are. The wasit band closes with hook and eyes. |
