Gold Silk Renaissance Wedding Gown Information

This Renaissance gown is designed to be light weight and comfortable in the heat. There is a good deal of handsewing that was involved in making the gown so that it would have proper SCA detailing. This is a silhouette that easily lends itself to a Renaissance wedding gown. It's simple clean lines are very flattering to all figures.

The overskirt is cartridge pleated and lined in black cotton to give it a period thickness while still remaining light weight and cool. The bodice has tabs at the shoulders and the waist, and is piped in black cording which make the details of the gown stand out. There was a layer of heavy cotton canvas used to flatline the gold silk to ad stiffness to the bodice and then the bodice is lined with yet another layer of heavy cotton canvas.

There are ten boning slots sewn in with bias tape in the front of the bodice and four in the back as usual with our gowns.

The back lacing is hidden with narrow panels of gold silk. And a modesty panel has been placed in the back so that the bodice can adjust in size as needed.

The sleeves are made of black silk and are lined in black cotton. The cuffs of the sleeves have more of the floral patterned trim and they tie on at the shoulders.

The black fore-panel is made of black silk. It is trimmed at the hem line with gold silk that has faux pearls sewn on in a triangular shape. This gown is one of our most popular styles for a renaissance wedding gown.
