Brocade Renaissance Gown InformationThe bodice and underskirt are made of an intricately patterned black and silvery gray brocade silk. The bodice front is cut on the bias in a chevron design. It is trimmed along the neck line with more of the silk that is all hand stitched in a decorative manner. The bottom edge has 12 tabs and the shoulders have 5 tabs on each side with ruby red silk brocade scarves that pouf through the tabs. All edges are piped in black for a finished appearance and for strength. All piping tabs and trim on the bodice are hand sewn. The sleeves are made of ruby red brocade silk shot with black and are lined in black cotton. The cuffs are trimmed with more of the black and gray brocade and is hand sewn. The sleeves attach to the bodice using small hidden loops and are laced to the shoulder, giving the wearer of this gown the option not wearing the sleeves on hot days. The overskirt is cartridge pleated into the waist band. This will not look skimpy around your hoop. The fore-panel is made from the ruby red silk as the sleeves and is backed by heavy cotton canvas |
