Elizabethan Renaissance Doublet Gown

. This is a back view of the wool and silk gown. The main fabric is a wool and silk blend. The bodice is made of zardosi trim and gold cording that was sewn on by hand. Over the bodice is the doublet and sleeves which have been slashed. The velvet rim has been applied in a chevron pattern. The sleeeves are made of two parts. These details are typical for fashionable courtiers of the English Renaissance. Red silk that is seen through the slashing on the doublet and sleeves. This type of dress is common for Elizabethan outdoor activites such as riding and hunting.
